Adauto Furlanetti
Evidence-based psychological support for personal growth and wellbeing
About me
I am a registered psychologist with over 18 years of experience, originally from Brazil and living in Australia since 2019. I work in both English and Portuguese.
My approach is collaborative and client-centred. I value active listening and genuinely believe that you are the expert in your own life. I aim to create a safe and respectful space where your experiences are heard and understood. I also pay close attention to the social factors that influence mental health, recognising that many difficulties are shaped by broader social and relational contexts.
In my work, I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Therapy. I also draw on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) when appropriate, and I am qualified in EMDR to support people who have experienced trauma. My therapeutic approach is always tailored to the individual needs, values, and goals of each client.
